The Anaheim restaurant provided free meals to more than 600 veterans thanks to the restaurant’s owner as well as help from the group that supports disabled veterans.
The owner of La Casa Garcia, Francisco Garcia revealed the goal to help veterans and serve free meals to 1000 veterans.
Garcia said, “It’s all about helping. I do Thanksgiving dinner; and give away toys for Christmas. But you know what? My No. 1 for me is the veterans.”
Garcia along with his staff served the meals to veterans during the week leading to Veterans Day. The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 23 of Orange County, an organization to support disabled veterans and their families supported Garcia.
The disabled veterans were also served meals. Many veterans used the time there to share stories and encourage support. Veterans felt protected and free.
