Rochester, N.Y.- The Boy Scouts of America from the surrounding area are working to do their part to support the local food pantries.
In the past three years, the visits to food banks have increased by 120%. The Boy Scouts from 14 packs and troops have been gathering food for months to donate to local food pantries.
They sorted out and distributed supplies to organizations in the area on Saturday.
Peter Scribner, scoutmaster, Troop 37 said, “It’s a great opportunity for scouts to have a great time, learn to work with each other”.
The rest of the food will be given to the Community Food Cupboard of Rochester.
