Dollar General To Donate 13.5 Pounds of Food to Food Banks in Missouri
Missouri food banks have gotten pounds of food from Dollar General to serve low-income people with children.

Missouri- Dollar General announced to donate more than 1.5 Pounds of food to Feeding America food banks in Missouri.
In 2023, the company contributed more than 15.2 million pounds of food to local food banks, sourced from DG stores and distribution centers. This substantial donation was part of their effort to tackle food insecurity and provide nourishment to communities in need.
The Missouri food banks that got the donation from Dollar General include Second Harvest Community Food Bank, St. Louis Area Food Bank, Ozarks Food Harvest, and The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri.
Healthier Collier said, “Southeast Missouri Food Bank has some of the highest rates of hunger in this state, we have 1 in 7 families, 1 in 6 children, and 1 in 8 seniors who live in homes that are considered insecure”.
Dollar General has donated more than $3 Million to Feeding America since its partnership in 2021. More than 1.25 Million pounds of food was donated by its stores and distribution centers which equals to more than 1 Million meals each month in 2023.
Collier said, “They can donate products that if it has a best by date or sell by date, those don’t have anything to do with food safety, and they just have to pull them off the selves and they’re able to just donate them”.
