Feeding America To Donate Meals Ahead of Supermarket Associates Day
Feeding America, the country’s largest hunger relief organization is donating meals in honor of Supermarket Associates Day.

Salisbury, N.C.- Food Lion Feeds donated thousands of meals in honor of Supermarket Associates Day on Wednesday.
One Million meals have been donated to Food Lion feeds partner Feeding America which is the country’s largest hunger relief organization.
Supermarket Associates Day is a celebration done in honor of the frontline grocery workers. February 22 was declared a day to recognize essential workers to help the communities thrive in 2021.
Food Lion President Meg Ham said, “Our meal donation aligns with our commitment to nourish our neighbors experiencing hunger and applauds our associates and their ongoing support of Food Lion Feeds. We believe no one should have to choose between dinner and rent or gas and groceries. This donation is another way to say ‘thank you’ to our associates and demonstrate care for the towns and cities we serve.”
More than 300,000 meals have been donated in the first few months of 2024 to help countless people struggling with food insecurity.
