Kellanova To Donate $50,000 To Food Banks In U.S.

Kellanova and Albertsons companies are working to address food insecurity in the U.S. by providing a donation to hunger relief efforts.

Kellanova has revealed that it is donating $50,000 to Albertsons Cos. Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors charitable program. The funds will be used to fight food insecurity via food banks, food pantries, and hunger relief charities in communities served by Albertsons Cos. family of stores such as Albertsons, Vons, ACME, and many others. This donation will enable partner charities to provide 200,000 meals in need.

Chief Consumer Officer At Kellanova Carrie Sander said that the company is proud to continue the partnership for four consecutive years.

Sander said, “Our customers are some of the strongest allies in our efforts to fulfill our Better Days Promise to tackle sustainable and equitable access to food”.

Feeding America reveals that 34 Million people are facing food insecurity in the US alone. Also, 49 Million people across 43 countries are at risk of falling into a severe hunger crisis.

A study conducted on this reveals that 49 Million people rely on food assistance such as food banks to fulfill their nutritional needs.

Christy Duncan Anderson, President and Executive Director, of Albertsons Cos. Foundation said, “Albertsons Cos. and Kellanova share the belief that everyone, especially children, should have access to nutritious food every day”.

The Better Days Programme by Kellanova aims to support nearly 4 Billion people by the end of 2030 to advance sustainable and equitable access to food across the globe.
