The advocates are working and having discussions regarding how to deal with the youth homelessness crisis in Nevada.

November 21, 2023

The advocates and stakeholders were inside the Smith Center all day on Wednesday discussing how to end homelessness among youth in Nevada. This movement took place in Southern Nevada.

Nevada Partnership Homeless Youth believes that they have to cover every square inch of this great silver state to solve youth homelessness.

The report released by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development revealed that 12% of youth experiencing homelessness across the United States were residing in Nevada.

Experts say that youth homelessness cannot be fixed with a one-size-fits-all solution. Help is needed to solve the youth homelessness crisis.

Macaluso said, “Here in southern Nevada, there are multiple shelters and avenues for youth to receive services and get engaged. We only have really the one in northern Nevada, and that being the Eddy House.”

The advocates intend to gather new data on the needs of homeless youth across the state and accordingly take further action. From here, it will start the development of the first-ever plan to address the homelessness issue in Nevada.
