Homeless veterans have been awarded over $141,000 in Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers known as VASH by Dothan Housing Authority.

The eligible veterans can apply for the vouchers to receive a housing voucher and other services such as clinical services from the VA.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development created this program to help veterans and their families find sustainable housing and get access to things like health care, counseling, and other services. The program provides all things that contribute to the veteran’s ability to sustain housing.

According to Dothan Housing, this is the first time that vouchers have been awarded in Houston County, having applied for 20 vouchers earlier this year.
