Kifer Senior Apartments To Start Accepting Applications
Nearly 80 residential units are being constructed for seniors aged 55 and above by the Kifer Senior Apartments.

Kifer Senior Apartments is a new affordable housing development that is set to create 80 residential units for seniors aged 55 and above. The housing units will comprise one and two-bedroom units. Only households whose income lies between 20-60% of the median income are considered eligible for affordable housing. Out of the 80 housing units, 40 housing units are set aside for the households experiencing homelessness and the ones who have been referred by the County of Santa Clara Coordinated Entry System (CES). The recipients can call 211 to get themselves enrolled in the county list.
Besides this, 8 housing units are reserved for the veterans and the ones who have been referred from the Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH). Nearly 25 housing units are also made available via application and lottery. The preference policy of the city of Santa Clara will be applied to these housing units while giving preference to the people who live and work within Santa Clara City.
Online applications for the new affordable housing will be accepted from October 1- October 18. The recipients can also call the helpline for additional assistance regarding this.
