HUD-Certified Housing Counselors To Assist Homeowners Recovering From Maui Wildfires
The homeowners and renters who are struggling to come out of Maui wildfires and need housing assistance can reach out to HUD-certified housing counselors.

HUD-certified housing counseling services are there to assist people in recovery from the devastating wildfires in Maui, Hawaii as announced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Besides the national and local HUD-approved housing counseling agencies, Hawaii state officials are also coming forward with their insurance and banking assistance center (IBAC) making it easy for individuals to speak to HUD-certified housing counselors. The people can also speak to other housing representatives regarding their housing needs and housing recovery options.
Janet Golrick, the Director of HUD’s Office of Disaster Management, is in Honolulu this week. She is working with the Federal Interagency Recovery Coordination Team to establish the Housing Recovery Support Function (RSF) organization. This body collaborates with FEMA, other federal agencies, and state and local officials on relevant housing recovery matters.
HUD-certified housing counselors are prepared and well-trained to guide the available options for homeowners and renters requiring immediate housing and disaster recovery assistance. You can make use of the online search tool to find a HUD-approved housing counseling agency.
The event will take place on Sept 1 and Sept 2 from 10;00 a.m.-3;00 p.m. at the Whalers Village Parking Lot.
