Washington- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) brings the innovative Housing showcase back for its fourth year from June 7 to June 9, 2024. Once again, the National Mall will be transformed into a hub of innovation and creativity.

The Innovative Housing Showcase is a public event meant to increase awareness among people regarding innovative and affordable housing designs and technologies that have the power to increase housing supply, decrease construction costs, increase energy efficiency and resilience, and minimize housing expenses for owners and renters. It is expected that nearly 4000 people will attend the event including the policymakers, the media, public and housing industry representatives. The event will exhibit full-sized prototype homes and innovative building technologies addressing the affordability, resilience, and future of housing.

HUD’s Secretary Marcia L. Fudge said, “The Innovative Housing Showcase is a testament to our nation’s unwavering commitment to moving the housing sector forward. The future of housing is innovative. The Showcase provides a unique opportunity to explore technologies that can make housing more affordable and more resilient while bringing industry leaders and the public together on creative solutions to the challenges facing our communities.”

HUD’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research Solomon Greene said, “HUD and its Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) have supported innovation in housing and building technologies since the beginning, and these investments have contributed to changes in building codes, improvements in industry practice, and most importantly, lower housing costs for American families. The Showcase continues that tradition, featuring the latest technologies and designs that can help meet the nation’s growing housing affordability and climate resilience needs.”

This housing showcase will be successful in addressing the affordable housing crisis in America and make room for sustainable development. Apart from the technological advancements, the housing showcase will also show how these advancements will make room for affordable, efficient, and accessible housing for families. Housing.

The main purpose of this Innovative Housing Showcase is to promote collaboration among stakeholders and inspire new solutions to the nation’s housing challenges.

Besides this, the Innovative Housing Showcase will feature a series of keynote speeches, and panel discussions touching on significant topics such as the role of technology in overcoming housing challenges, sustainability, and housing policy.

The Innovative Housing Showcase event at the National Mall will shape the future of housing in America.

HUD has also published a notice in the federal register in which it has asked the exhibitors to showcase the innovations. The exhibitors are allowed to submit their innovations till March 29, 2024. The other details regarding the exhibitors and other things will be announced shortly by HUD.
