The applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) started at the beginning of November but there’s still plenty of time to apply for the program.
Rhonda Huggins, the Coordinator of the Guthrie County Family Development Center at New Opportunities, emphasizes that LIHEAP is a valuable program designed to assist households in need with their winter energy bills. She encourages anyone who may require this assistance to apply for it.
Rhonda Huggins said, “LIHEAP, or heating assistance, does run through the end of April, so don’t feel like it’s too late to sign up. We are taking applications every day, so give us a call and we can get you signed up.”
Interested ones can contact Huggins or visit her office inside the Guthrie Center City Hall Building to sign up for LIHEAP.
