It will be an open-to-the-public event to raise awareness about innovative and affordable housing designs. The policymakers, media, general public, and housing industry representatives are all invited to attend the innovative housing showcase.
HUD Secretary, Marcia L. Fudge says, “ Innovation in housing is a crucial component of our work to increase housing supply and lower costs for American families. The Innovative Housing Showcase will display cutting-edge designs from across the building industry- from affordability to resiliency and energy efficiency”.
There will be dozens of exhibits including full-sized, enterable prototype homes, displaying accessible innovative building technologies addressing affordability and the future of housing will be showcased in the innovative housing showcase.
From construction methods to software, the software exhibitors will offer a range of housing innovations. Since the beginning, HUD and its Office of policy development and Research have supported innovation in housing and building technologies. These investments will make significant contributions to changes in building codes, lowering housing costs for American families and significant improvements in industry practice. This showcase also follows the same tradition featuring the latest technologies and designs to meet the nation’s growing house and climate resilience needs.
