HUD Announces Updated Information For 2023 Innovative Housing Showcase

General Public is invited to the Innovative Housing Showcase 2023 in the National Mall from June 9-June 11.

Washington- The new details regarding the innovative housing showcase including the first round of exhibitors were announced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). It will be an open-to-the-public event to raise awareness about innovative and affordable housing designs. The showcase will also include the technologies that will increase the housing supply, decrease construction costs, increase energy efficiency, and reduce housing expenses for both owners as well as renters. The policymakers, media, general public, and housing industry representatives are all invited to attend the innovative housing showcase.

HUD Secretary, Marcia L. Fudge says, “ Innovation in housing is a crucial component of our work to increase housing supply and lower costs for American families. The Innovative Housing Showcase will display cutting-edge designs from across the building industry- from affordability to resiliency and energy efficiency”.

There will be dozens of exhibits including full-sized, enterable prototype homes, displaying accessible innovative building technologies addressing affordability and the future of housing will be showcased in the innovative housing showcase.

From construction methods to software, the software exhibitors will offer a range of housing innovations. Since the beginning, HUD and its Office of policy development and Research have supported innovation in housing and building technologies. These investments will make significant contributions to changes in building codes, lowering housing costs for American families and significant improvements in industry practice. This showcase also follows the same tradition featuring the latest technologies and designs to meet the nation’s growing house and climate resilience needs.
