Local housing officials are looking for qualified people to manage the subsidized housing units.
The preliminary applications for the Housing Choice Voucher will be accepted between October 2 and October 12 via its portal. The Housing Choice Voucher program is a federally funded program to help low-income persons by providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
The applicants seeking Housing Choice Voucher need to fulfill the eligibility guidelines as outlined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Development and WHHA.
The housing authority also has staff and volunteers available at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St. to help the ones who are disabled and require assistance in applying for the housing choice voucher.
The assistance is only available for individuals looking for reasonable accommodation. A random draw lottery system will be used by the housing authority to select 1000 pre-applications.
The individuals chosen in the lottery will be notified via email by October 31, 2023.
