Discriminating against persons who are pregnant or are in the process of obtaining legal custody is considered Illegal under the Fair Housing Act. It is illegal to discriminate about housing based on family status. The family status covers pregnant persons, persons obtaining the legal custody of a minor child, or persons having the written permission of the parent.
