Temporary Assistance for needy families (TANF)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) widely known as welfare is a federally funded state-administered program that is meant to help families achieve self-sufficiency during challenging times.
About TANF
The individuals eligible for receiving assistance under TANF can receive:
- Food
- Housing
- Childcare
- Job training
- Home energy
Every state has its own rules and guidelines to manage the TANF program and does so under a different name. Besides this, there are plenty of tribal groups that operate TANF programs differently.
