FHA Loans and HUD Homes
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has two programs to make the process of purchasing a home more affordable for homebuyers.
FHA Loans
The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the FHA loans program. If you are a first-time home buyer, then this may turn out to be a good mortgage choice because its requirements are not as strict as they are for the other loans. The low down payment and closing costs are another reason for the same.
Eligibility for FHA loan
An FHA-approved lender sees if you qualify for an FHA loan or not. It is not mandatory to have a high credit score for qualifying for an FHA loan.
Do check the loan limit for an FHA home in its location as the price of the home you want to insure should be within this loan limit.
How to apply for an FHA loan?
The FHA insures mortgage loans from FHA-approved lenders and it doesn’t lend money to people. Consequently, you need to reach out to an FHA-approved lender to apply for the FHA-insured loan. You can find out about your FHA-approved lender here.
You can also find more information about the FHA loans and FHA loan products for manufactured homes.
How to complain about an FHA loan?
You can contact the FHA resource center if you have any complaints about the FHA loan program.
