January 12, 2023

By awarding $25.4 Million to 99 Public Housing Agencies, The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) supports 2308 HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers.

The veterans who are experiencing homelessness can receive supportive housing assistance along with rental assistance, case management, and clinical services from the HUD-VASH program.

Since early 2020, homelessness among veterans has fallen to 11% because of the joint efforts of the VA, HUD, and USICH. Progress happened when the world was facing an economic crisis and proved that progress can also happen even in the most difficult circumstances. The VA was also on track in 2022 as it placed 38,000 homeless veterans into permanent housing.
