January 29, 2024

Washington- The U.S. Department of Labour announced $12 Million in funds for organizations to provide training and employment services to veterans so that they can combat homelessness.

The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) administered by the Veterans Employment and Training Service strives to reduce homelessness among veterans by assisting them to overcome obstacles that prevent them from re-entering the workforce.

Every awardee will be provided a maximum of $600,000 annually for around three years in HVRP grants to deliver occupational skills training, support participation in registered programs, and other on-the-job training opportunities.

This initiative is in sync with the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to reduce veterans homelessness and the public including HUD’s Continuum of Care Program, USICH, and U.S. Department of VA Homeless Programs Office.

The ones who are eligible to apply for the grant include nonprofit and profit organizations, state and local government agencies, education institutions like Black colleges and universities, Native American Tribal governments, and state and local development boards.

A webinar will be conducted in which specific information on this funding opportunity will be provided and questions regarding the application process will be answered. The applications for this funding opportunity will remain open until March 24, 2024.
