Sale: for the purpose of the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means, a Consumer’s personal information to another business or a third party for monetary or other valuable.
Products and Service(s): includes, collectively or as applicable to You, the Site, Software as a Service (SaaS) including but not limited to, AH411 Portal, and any additional software developed/offered, and/or Subscription Services, and any other consulting services provided by AH411 pursuant to this Agreement and any applicable Products and/or Services Addendum.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used. For the purpose of the GDPR, Service Providers are considered Data Processors.
Third-party Social Media: Service refers to any website or any social network website through which a User can log in or create an account to use the Service.
Usage Data: refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
Website: refers to Affordable Housing 411, accessible from AffordableHousing411.com
You and/or User means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

- Information from other sources: AffordableHousing411.com is part of the AH411 family of businesses. We may obtain both personal and non-personal information about you from other AH411 businesses and affiliates, business partners, contractors, and other third parties. We may also receive information about our users from third parties. When you access or use the Site, you allow us to access or collect information made available by the third-party site in accordance with its privacy policy. This information may be available from your profile or account with such a site or from cookies placed on your device by the third-party platform. As an AH411 Member, the online profile page you create and publish (the “Profile Page”) may be available to another user with an account and with your permission on the Site. AH411 may create a Profile Page for you. We also maintain a database of public information we have licensed from third-party sources for display.
- Information about others: We may collect and store personal information about other people that you provide to us, such as their name, address, and email address.

If we know You are working with a particular owner, landlord or property manager, we may share information about your saved favorites and searches to let them serve you more effectively. You control what we share with real estate pros you find on our platform.
Other uses of your information
We also may use your data to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and to protect the rights and property of the Company, its customers, and others. Occasionally, there may be a reason we would like to use your information in a way that is not described here.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. We allow them to use the information only to perform the service we have asked them to perform. We vet all service providers carefully, and the Company always remains responsible for the privacy of your information that is shared with our service providers.

An API or several APIs: The Company may develop an application or applications that enable its customers to access data themselves through an internal API or develop external APIs that enable third party software to interact with User data (where the User controls what data is exposed), such as Google Maps, Twilio, and social media sharing available outside of social media platforms.
Licensing Data: The Company may license User data for use by colleges, universities, research and/or other educational institutions, as well other businesses. This could be pre-segmented or raw data.
Data Analysis: The Company may sell their own data analyses to government agencies, public housing authorities, non-profits within our industry or other business for their own use.
Trading Data: The Company may trade or barter user data to obtain benefits for our clients, customers, or business, in exchange for performance benchmarking or to be able to offer other products and services for its customers in return for select data insights.
Indirect Data Monetization: The Company may use User data, in many ways, including, but not limited to, understanding its customers and suppliers better, and use newly gained insights about its clients, customers, and partners to:
- Develop new services, products, or markets
- Enhance its service or product
- Discover new business categories or customer types
- Discover the secondary problems of customers and solve them by enhancing its services or products
- Locate gaps in the market to create new products
- Adjust the price or offering of “similar products” recommendations on its website and User behavior data

- Identify customer problems that have not been addressed to launch a new service or product
- Monitor how productive and efficient processes, operations, and employees are, then optimize its resource allocations

Managing Communications Preferences
Email subscriptions
The Company may send you email for a variety of reasons. For example, if you save a search, we will send you emails with new affordable housing 411 options on the market that match your search. If you save a listing, we will keep you posted on status updates like when that apartment, house or unit has been rented. When you use our transaction services, we will send you status updates and other information about your transaction. If you have an account with the Company, you can select your preferences through your account settings. Also, you can manage the types of email you receive by following the instructions included in each email we send you. Even if you unsubscribe from some promotional email subscriptions, we may still need to email you with important transactional or other non-advertising information.
Calls and Texts
Some of our services allow you to provide your phone number to us. When you give us your number, we may call or text you, for example, to give you information about an available listing you have expressed interested in, or an owner, landlord or property manager you have contacted regarding a listing. We will contact you through these methods only in accordance with applicable legal requirements, and you always have the ability to opt out of further calls or texts.
Protecting your information
We understand that no matter how we collect your information, we have a responsibility to protect it. We take that responsibility seriously. We build security into our products and features from the ground up to help protect data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
We are always looking for threats and take reasonable steps to respond to those threats, protecting the information users share with us. Of course, no method of Internet transmission or data storage can provide guaranteed protection to your information. If anything should ever happen to your information, we will notify you as soon as possible and use our efforts to remedy any authorized use of Your information.
The Company is based in the United States and the information we collect is governed primarily by United States law. Where we are subject to the privacy laws of other countries, we comply with those requirements.
